About Galing Pilipino
Since its inception on June 12, 2002, the Galing Pilipino Movement (GPM), a private sector initiative, has been purposively stirring up our countrymen to recognize, affirm and propagate what is good and excellent about being Pilipino, about Pilipinos and about the Philippines as a counterforce to the negativism and cynicism that downgrades our national spirit.
From only 70 registered members in 2002, GPM now has about 6,189 members nationwide. GPM has been awarded by the World Bank for its Lapu-Lapu City Dumpsite Community Transformation project and by the PRSP Anvil Award for its innovative Pamaskong Galing Pilipino project. In May 2006, GPM was given a 3-year PCNC accreditation as a donee institution, granting our donors 100% tax-free privilege for their support.
Galing Pilipino Movement challenge and empower every Pilipino to take control of his own destiny, to be the best that he can be and to live his life making a positive difference no matter how big or small to the world. By reinforcing extraordinary achievement and outstanding service, GPM serves a value-centered foundation for nation-building.
